Dried Blood Splatters Photoshop Brushes

These splatter brushes were created with watercolor dried on lightweight paper to simulate the look of dried blood. Like our Glossy Blood Splatter Photoshop brushes, these can be used to create blood, paint, or paint in UV light. This set contains 117 blood splatter brushes.

How to Create Realistic Stamps

These brushes may be used like any other brushes. Follow this tutorial if you would like to get a realistic looking stamp like shown in some of our examples.

Step 1 – Create a new layer

Create a new layer. This layer will hold the stamp.

Step 2 – Set the foreground color to white

These brushes are designed to be used with white paint so set your foreground color to white. You can do this quickly by pressing D on your keyboard then pressing X on your keyboard.

Step 3 – Select and apply the brush

Make sure that you have the new layer selected. Select the brush tool, select a brush, then click anywhere in the document window to apply the stamp.

Step 4 – Create an inversed selection

In the layers palette, hold the Ctrl key then click on the thumbnail of the current layer. This will create a selection based on the transparency of the layer.

Choose Select > Inverse to inverse the selection.

Select the Magic Wand tool then set the Tolerance setting in the option bar to 0.

Hold down the Alt key then click on the area outside the stamp. You should have a selection similar to the image below.

Step 5 – Fill the selection with black

Set your foreground color to black. You can do this quickly by pressing D on your keyboard.

Fill the selected area with black. To do this, press Alt+Backspace or choose Edit > Fill > Black.

Step 6 – Deselect

Press Ctrl+D or choose Select > Deselect to deselect the selection.

Step 7 – Colorize

There are many ways you can colorize the stamp. The fastest way to do this is with the Hue/Saturation tool. Press Ctrl+U or choose Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation to use the Hue/Saturation tool. Checkmark the Colorize option then adjust the settings to get the color you like.

To color specific areas of the stamp, select the brush tool then set the blending mode in the option bar to Color. Select the color you like to paint with then paint directly on the layer. Remember to change the blending mode back to normal when you’re done!

How to use the inversed stamp

There is one black colored stamp in this set. To use this stamp, follow same steps above with the following modifications:

In step 2, use black instead of white.
In step 5, use white instead of black.

For quite some time now I wanted to create an action-movie poster tutorial and I thought this would be the best time to do so. It is a lengthy tutorial and I have worked a few days on this tutorial so I really hope some of you find it useful! Step 1

Open up Photoshop and create a new Document of 2270x3450 and click OK. Open the Cloud image and scale it down (Ctrl + T) so that it fits the canvas. Create a new layer and name it 'Color_Gradient' and set the Layer Mode to Color. Select the Gradient Tool (G) and set a grey-ish green color (#58686b) as the foreground color and a marine blue color (#394f61) as the background color. Drag the Gradient Tool (G) from the bottom left to the top right.

Create a new layer and name it 'Billing_Block_Shadow'. Grab a Soft Round Brush of any size and start painting the bottom of the image black. Set the Opacity to 50%.

Interview with Designer Narendra Keshkar

Narendra Keshkar is a 26 year old artist from Indore, India. He’s always been amused with colors and shapes as a child where he began drawing at a young age. Later, he digitalized his skills and turned his passion into a profession. His thirst for knowledge keeps him busy with experimenting ideas and learning new skills. Most of his time is spent on teasing his mouse in creating some pretty cool ideas. A milestone that most artists dream of is having their own studio which Narendra will be launching his own design studio “Design Wings” very soon. Lastly, what keeps this artist sane and energized are books and PC games which like most guys, are obsessed with.

How did you started and discovered that you wanted to be a designer?

I had passion for drawing since my childhood, but I didn't expect to choose it as my profession. I started my career as content developer and along with it I persuaded a graphic design

course. This was my turning point and I saw the true color of creativity & design. After this, I decided to be a designer, initially I had created some weird design with bold font and a lot of images, but later I understood the importance of simplicity. Since then I am continuously improving my skills and developing my own style to stand out in this design field.

Are there any underlying themes that you feel are universal in all of your pieces, or do you try to vary your style?

Simplicity, this is the most important factor which reflects in my most projects. I don't like repetitive or monotonous work due to this, I prefer to work on the project which has something new and demands additional skills with more dedication. Such projects are very exciting for me which give you an opportunity to learn something new to do that project. I love to experiment with new ideas to get my hands on new styles & techniques which also enhance my skills too.

I draw a lot of simple sketches on computer or maybe sometimes on paper. I am going to use a an old sketch work of mine. Here is the main sketch work which I draw. If you want, you can use this sketch too.

I often draw a lot of simple sketches to represent the story but when I go back to look at it I realize that I would only use one of the sketches. Composing with Light and Color

There are many articles, blogs, and even whole books out there discussing how to record a composition, and introducing you to the most known and famous rules or guidelines of composition such as the rule of thirds, converging lines, looking for patterns, utilizing surrounding texture, filling your frame, and on and on and on... and I 100% agree with all that. In fact, these are the ABCs of photography, and whether you choose to follow or break those rules, you should be familiar with them to begin with.
What I want to focus on today though is, how you can achieve intriguing results by composing your shots with light and color. The things we're going to talk about today are meant to give you a lead on how you can creatively make use of a better sense of understanding of light and color to create unique, unconventional, and dramatic compositions that can set you apart from the rest.
Light is the very essential part of photography. Without light there is absolutely nothing. No matter how sophisticated your gear is, how large your sensor is, how long your lens is, it all comes down to light entering the camera traveling through the lens and registering onto photographic film or digital sensor.
Every photographer, regardless of their level of expertise, study the light characteristics of their scene; how harsh or soft, how cold or warm, how high or low, and so on before making the decision of how to pursue.
On the other hand, color is also a very important component of a successful composition. Photographers, unlike painters, find colors rather than create them (at least for the most part!), and this is why they are less informed of color theories, how to use them, and how to intensify existing colors to better serve their needs. Nevertheless, photographers are well served understanding the basics so that they can appreciate why some color images work while others don't.
To be honest, color is a huge subject of its own that no post or a dozen can give justice to. However, we are going to be looking at the fundamentals of color that can assist us to better understand how we can make the best of it in our photos, and how to utilize it to convey the intended emotional and perceptual responses of our photos.

How to Create an Audi A1 Digital Car Painting in Photoshop

This tutorial describes how to create a photo-realistic rendering of a car, in this case an Audi A1. This tutorial relies heavily on paths and should take about two hours to complete depending on skill level.

Step 1

Begin by sketching your design. The line work doesn't have to be the best as you will go over it all using paths. Try to include as much detail as you but don't worry too much, the point of this is to develop a design as well so its a good thing if ideas come to you as you work. Scan the sketch and save your file. This particular file is 3500 pix wide if you’re working with anything considerably larger or smaller your results will be different due to brush sizes.

Step 2

Start by redrawing the lines using paths then hide the layer with the original sketch and on a new layer stroke the paths using a brush 1px wide. Rename this layer to 'lines'.

Step 3

Using the magic wand tool select the areas which represent the main bodywork/metal areas. On a new layer use the paint bucket tool to fill in these areas.

Step 4

Using the same method as in Step 3 fill in the rest of the car putting each area on a different layer.

Step 5

On a new layer use the gradient tool to create a background gradient.

Step 6

Download some wheels from designermart.co.uk. Extract the angles suitable for your design and position them.

Step 7

Fill in the areas which are in shadow or shade. At this stage don't worry about the gradient of these areas.

Step 8

Select the eraser tool and set it to Soft Round Pressure Opacity then start to erase the top areas of the shadowed areas. The premise here is that the higher areas are closer to the light so the shadows are lighter.
